Smoothies

Peanut Butter Chocolate Protein

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder
  • 1.5 tbsp PB2 (peanut butter powder).  This is healthier than regular peanut butter and easier to blend.
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
Calories: 359
Protein: 27g

Purple Protein Smoothie

  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Organic Plain Yogurt
  • 1/2 Avocado
  • 1/2 Banana
  • 1/2 C. Frozen Blueberries
  • 1/2 Scoop Vanilla Whey Protein Powder
  • 1 tbps Chia Seeds
  • Ice
Blend & Enjoy!
P.S.  This smoothie has 25g of protein!
Tip:  Cut the avocado in half.  The half with the pit, cover and put in the fridge.  The avocado with the pit in it will last longer. I schedule smoothies back to back to that call for 1/2 an avocado each so nothing goes to waste.

Spinach & Berry Twist
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 6-8 large frozen strawberries
  • handful of Spinach
  • handful of blueberries
  • 1 banana
  • chia seeds
I found the frozen strawberries from Costco are great.  They're larger than the grocery store ones, and there's a ziploc to keep them fresh.  Blend all this and enjoy!  It's sweet.

Light Green Rush

  • 1/4 Avocado
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 6 ice cubes
  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1 red apple
  • 1 banana
  • Chia Seeds
This is delicious!  You can't taste the spinach or avocado.  The avocado makes it creamy.  Add more water if you don't want it as creamy.  You just taste the banana and a little apple.  Blend it up and enjoy.

The Best Strawberry Smoothie!

  • 1 Cup freshly squeeze apple juice (use a juicer)
  • 1 Cup frozen Strawberries
If you want it thicker then add more frozen berries.  This is delicious.

Kale & Orange Smoothie
  • 1 Cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 bunches kale
  • 7 frozen strawberries
  • 1 banana

Blend!

Green Goddess Smoothie

  • 2 tbsp lime juice (I squeezed the juice out of 3 baby limes)
  • 2 Cup Spinach
  • 1 Pear (cut and cored)
  • 15 green grapes
  • 6 oz. organic plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp avocado
Blend & enjoy!  It looks like it wouldn't taste great, but it's pretty good.  I added ice to make it colder to and to water it down a little. The lime over powers almost everything else.

Strawberry & Peanut Butter Rush

  • 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter too (I use the brand PB2 that is powdered peanut butter.  It's healthier for you and works well in smoothies.)
  • 1 Cup Frozen Strawberries
  • 1/2 Cup Oats
  • 1 tsp Organic Honey (more or less to taste)
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 Cup Almond Milk (unsweetened)
Blend and enjoy!  You can add ice if you want it more cold.

Raspberry Delight

  • 1 Cup Almond Milk (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 C Frozen Raspberries
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/2 tbsp Chia Seeds
The frozen raspberries help keep it cold.

Note:  You can also add a frozen berry mix (raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries), it'll just come out a little darker.

Add Broccoli...
I was proud I finished it!

  • 1 Cup Water
  • Kale
  • Broccoli
  • Apple
  • Banana
  • Frozen Berries
Blend in your VitaMix and enjoy.  The broccoli is a little over powering.  You can try adding lemon juice or lemon slices to the mix to over come that.

 Kale & Fruit Smoothie
  • 1 Cup Water
  • Kale
  • 1 Apple
  • 1 Banana
  • Frozen Berries (strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries.)
  • Ice
Blended in our VitaMix. Blend well until all fibers are broken down.

Raspberry Morning Bliss

  • 2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 cup mixed frozen berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries & blackberries)
  • 1 banana

Strawberry Protein Smoothie

  • 1 Cup Almond Milk (unsweetened)
  • 1 Cup Strawberries
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/2 C crushed ice
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used Vanilla Whey Protein, but I only used a little more than 1/2 a scoop.  It just seemed like a lot.)

Goji Berry Superfood Smoothie

  • 1/2 Cup Ice
  • Handful of Goji Berries
  • 1/2 Cup Frozen Strawberries
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 tbsp raw organic honey
  • 1.5 - 2 Cups low fat milk
  • 1/4 cup French Vanilla Yogurt (I use Organic Stonyfield.)
Blend & enjoy!  Some bloggers say to soak your Goji berries first.  I haven't figured out what that means yet so I just put them in and they taste great.  You can buy the individual Stonyfield yogurts at the store for about 88¢

Yes it's high in sugar and maybe it's high in calories for you, but here's how I look at it...

You're getting A LOT of great nutritions from natural products like milk, raw organic honey, fruits and a super food like Goji Berries.  I really don't want you to freak out over the numbers.  It's better than 400+ calories in a Big Mac with a lot more fat, right?

Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie

  • 3-4 cups strawberries
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar

And blend!  You can add more strawberries to make it thicker, and you can always cut back on the amount of sugar because there's natural sugar in the strawberries & yogurt.  I added a touch of whipped creme on the top because it make it look so cute, plus it tastes good.

Raspberry Energy Booster Smoothie
  • 1 - 1/2 bananas
  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1/2 - 1 tbsp. Chia Seeds
  • 1 Cup almond milk
Put in a blender and mix it up!  To make it more thick add more fruit, to make it most like liquid add more almond milk (or any other nut/seed based milk.
